International Hairdressing Awards’ winners

The 2023 International Hairdressing Awards’ winners announced during the IHA World Tour

• Cos Sakkas, Robert Masciave, Bayleigh Peace & Laura Scott, Enrica Russo, Mark Leeson Art Team and Erika Okvist are the winners of the 2023 International Hairdressing Awards and will collect their awards on May 8th at the awards ceremony in Palma de Mallorca (Spain)

• World-famous hairdresser Anthony Mascolo has been recognized with the International Hair Legend of the Year award while the International Hair Influencer of the Year award, which recognizes the positive influence and impact in the industry and beyond, goes to renowned hairdresser, international educator and social media maven Sophia Hilton.

The 2023 International Hairdressing Awards’ winners have been announced during the IHA World Tour that the International Hairdressing Awards have done from March 6th to 14th. The winners in the eight categories have been revealed personally and by surprise by Mikel Luzea, IHA director and founder, and Sergi Bancells, global ambassador of the awards. Both have been travelling to announce personally the awards to the winners, and the annoucements have been streamed live via Instagram on @ihawards

The winners in the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection are Bayleigh Peace & Laura Scott, from Mark Leeson Salons (UK). The award in Best International Women’s Commercial Collection goes to Robert Masciave (France/UK). The Best International Avant-Garde Collection award is for Enrica Russo (Italy/UK). The winner team in the category of International Artistic Team of the Year is Mark Leeson Art Team (UK). In the newly created category, International Film & TV Hairdresser of the Year, the winner is Swedish hairdresser Erika Okvist for her work on the television series ‘Bridgerton’. And last but not least, the British hairdresser Cos Sakkas, has been crowned International Hairdresser of the Year for the second year in a row.

Also, global icon Anthony Mascolo has been recognized with the International Hair Legend of the Year honor award, being the fifth hairdresser awarded with this honorific award, for his career in the profession and for being an indisputable reference for professionals from all over the world. For fourth year, the organization of the International Hairdressing Awards presents the International Hair Influencer of the Year award, which recognizes positive influence and impact in the industry and beyond, and has been awarded to Sophia Hilton.

After this world tour, the eight winners will be invited to attend the great night of the hairdressing industry in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), on May 8th, where the International Hairdressing Awards®’ evening will consist again of a purple carpet -the red carpet of global hairdressing-, a catwalk with the most important hairdressing teams of the world, and the awards ceremony, where the winners will be crowned.

The fifth year

In its fifth year, participation has registered great figures: almost 500 collections from 38 different countries have entered to participate with their photographic work in the categories of Best International Women’s Collection, Best International Men’s Collection and Best International Avant-Garde Collection. In addition, the hairdressers and artistic teams that had been shortlisted to participate in the categories of International Hairdresser of the Year and International Artistic Team of the Year were invited to submit their applications, consisting of a photographic collection and a dossier summarizing their professional career in the last year.
