International Hairdressing Awards® announce the jury for their fourth year
• The International Hairdressing Awards® 2022 will take place on 16th May 2020 in Madrid.
• In its fourth year, the competition has a jury formed by five renowned international hairdressers: Gun-Britt Zeller, Marcel Montlleó, Paul Gehring, Richard Thompson and Sophia Hilton
International Hairdressing Awards’ machine goes at full speed, announcing the five names that will make up the professional jury for their fourth year. This year, the competition has a jury formed by five renowned public figures of international hairdressing:
Gun-Britt Zeller is an influential Swedish hairdresser, but based in Denmark. With a career of 45 years as a self-employed hairdresser, in addition to working in her salon in the heart of Copenhagen, she teaches other hairdressers, and hosts shows for the hairdressing industry’s leading stakeholders.
Paul Gehring is a Dutch hairdresser based in Barcelona with a long, successful career in hairdressing, which makes him an expert both in activities related to training and in creating inspiring hairfashion collections.
Marcel Montlleó is a renowned Spanish hairdresser who has built his long career with professionalism and a point of transgression that has consolidated him both in in his work in the salon and fashion catwalks, and in his editorial proposals, with an avant-garde and always original vision.
Sophia Hilton is owner of the famous ‘Not Another salon’ in London. As an international educator she has taught in 15 countries in person and her online education is in 42 countries worldwide. Sophia’s brand has become one of the most influential brands in the UK, leading not just for their trends but for their positive contribution to the industry.
Richard Thompson is a famous British hairdresser with a long experience in team building and creating photographic collections. As the founder of the Mahogany firm, he laid the foundations for a new way of working and became a reference in British hairdressing, which has subsequently allowed him to build a successful independent career and work to develop new products.
The International Hairdressing Awards are an independent company, powered by hairdressers, founded and directed by the well-known Spanish hairdresser Mikel Luzea. The International Hairdressing Awards are supported by Revlon Professional as main sponsor, Estetica Magazine as global media partner and Beauty Underground as sponsor.
Every hairdresser from all over the world can take part in the contest by signing up at www.ihawards.com and uploading their photographic collections (4 pictures of 4 different hairdressing styles, professional shooting, hi-res). Two categories, International Haidresser of the Year and International Artistic Team of the Year, need a pre-selection to take part. The remaining categories (Best International Men’s Collection, Best International Women’s Collection and Best International Avant-Garde Collection) are open to every hairdresser. The two honorific categories (International Hair Legend of the Year and International Hair Influencer of the Year) are delivered by the organizing committee and are not open to general participation.
Once the entry period closes, on January 10th 2022, the judges will vote the participating collections and on 13th February, the finalists will be announced in live streaming. The winners in the five categories will be revealed among the fifteen finalists whose candidacies will be chosen by a jury made up of five renowned international hairdressers. The 2022 awards ceremony will take place in Madrid on May 16th, after a world tour where the awards will be announced personally to the winners, by surprise and with live broadcasting via Internet. The footage that will be recorded during the world tour will be used for the realization of a docu-reality for television platforms. After this world tour, the seven winners will be invited to attend the great night of hairdressing industry in Madrid, on May 16th.
