• Participation in the International Hairdressing Awards® third year has exceeded all the expectations of the organization, in a year marked by the global health crisis.
• Almost 600 collections from 44 countries have been presented to the third edition of the contest
Last Thursday, September 24th at 8:00 AM (Spanish time), the International Hairdressing Awards closed the participation of its third edition. In its third year, participation has exceeded all the expectations of the organization in a year marked by the pandemic, with almost 600 collections presented from around the world. Hairdressers from 44 countries have registered to participate with their photographic work in the categories of Best International Women’s Collection, Best International Men’s Collection and Best International Avant-Garde Collection. In addition, the hairdressers and artistic teams that had been shortlisted to participate in the categories of International Hairdresser of the Year and International Artistic Team of the Year were invited to submit their applications, consisting of a photographic collection and a dossier summarizing their professional career in the last year.
Mikel Luzea, Director and Founder of the International Hairdressing Awards®, explained: “We are happy to announce this data because in an uncertain year like this, maintaining the high participation figures is quite an achievement. Furthermore, the IHAs have proven to be a an increasingly global contest, with participants from 44 different countries. We hope that the global health situation will allow us to carry out the awards ceremony as we have imagined, a revolutionary format that will change the way of understanding hairdressing awards “. The participating collections come from Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Argentina, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Taiwan, United States, Japan, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Slovakia, Canada, Russian Federation, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Andorra, Australia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Malaysia, India, Perú, Slovenia, Ukraine, Finland, Belarus, Sri Lanka, Estonia, Poland, China, Romania, Hong Kong, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Moldova, Grenada, Turkey, Bulgaria and México.
Now, once the participation is closed, the voting rounds will start, with a jury composed of five of the most outstanding names of the international hairdressing: Sam Villa, Vivienne Mackinder, Mark Hayes, Tracey Hughes and Antonio Bellver. The announcement date of the finalists for the International Hairdressing Awards will be announced shortly.
